THE 10 GOLDEN RULES OF GETTING  IN SHAPE!

            Everybody wants to get in shape--ESPECIALLY NOW THAT THE NEW YEAR IS HERE,  but wishing won’t make it so.  I’ve been working with people who want to get in shape for more than 20 years now, and for the past five years, I’ve gotten feedback directly from hundreds of thousands of people on the internet. 

            “I’ve been working out for three years and nothing is happening.” 

            “Why doesn’t my butt change?  I’ve been riding the exercise bike forever.”

           “ I still have a bra roll even though I do Tae-bo three times a week.” 

“I’ve been dancing, and working out with weights for six months now and my arms are as flabby as ever.” 

 “I’m on the high protein diet and as soon as I go off I gain it all back and more.”  And on and on and on.

            Time and again, people make the same mistakes in losing weight and getting in shape!  If they were to correct these mistakes they would not only get in shape, but do it in record time.  In analyzing the mistakes, they boil down to ten. But not liking to be negative, I decided to turn it around.  Instead of talking about “mistakes,” I decided to talk about “Golden Rules.”  If you follow the ten Golden Rules of fitness, not only will you get in shape, you’ll know how to stay in shape for life!

           Let me give you an example of how violating just one of the ten Golden Rules can keep you from getting in shape.  Many people tell me they have been working out with weights for years with no results.  When I read further, I discover that they have been using only one set of dumbbells– the same weight.  This is a very common mistake.  When I instruct them to switch to the pyramid system of using three different sets of dumbbells with graduating weights, and tell them exactly how to do this, they report that in three weeks they begin to see clear changes.

            Others complain that in spite of massive aerobic efforts with the latest fat-burning  machines such as the elliptical rider, their legs are still not in shape.  When I explain that they must exercise their legs a specific way with weights and tell them exactly how to do it, in a matter of weeks their legs begin to be reshaped. 

            Others tell me they love to go to the fitness center and use the exercise machines, yet after years of working out they see little change in their body shape.  They wonder why I look so good at sixty one–when they, often half my age,  even after massive efforts can’t reshape their bodies and lose the weight.

             When I explain to them that SOME machines are good for additions to workouts, and  that dumbbells should be the mainstay of the workout (fitness centers have dumbbells too–if they don’t, wrong fitness center) they are quite surprised.  I then give exact details on how to use the dumbbells and how to incorporate the machines that are  useful (why not take advantage of them since they are there) they are amazed to see dramatic changes in a matter of weeks– and in months, a completely reshaped body beyond their wildest dreams.

            In short, in the following pages, I will take you from “where you are at” and move you to a better place in your  fitness quest.  I will speak directly to your  issues – and give you specific instructions on how to “move on.”   

            Oh. So you already know a lot of this? I’m thrilled. Then this book can serve as a constant reminder–a handy review in case you forget something or are tempted to follow some new silly fitness trend. This will be your testing rod. THINKING ABOUT DOING SOMETHING NEW-NEED YOUR INPUT FIRST!!

         Here is my  2012 Joyce's Bootcamp" workout using all 19 of my DVDS. It  will cause your body to get into amazing shape in 6 weeks. If you can't afford to get all 19 get as many as you can and keep repeating those weeks but for maximum progress it pays to mix it up to the max

THE PLAN:

WEEK ONE

DAY 1. Day 2. COUGAR WORKOUT UPPER BODY. DAY 2: COUGAR WORKOUT LOWER AND MIDDLE BODY. DAY 3: WALK WITH JOYCE. DAY 4. BOTTOMS UP GOLD PLUS UPPER BODY. Day 5.. BOTTOMS UP GOLD PLUS LOWER AND MIDDLE. Day 6. Walk with Joyce. Day 7. Off workout.

Note: Each workout day before you do anything else you do the JUST ABS day for that day. There are six days so it works out perfectly. Then you can either do the ABS included if it is for that day in addition to the ABS or just leave them out. Your choice. THIS APPLIES TO ALL SIX WORKOUT WEEKS.

THE HAT

My grandson was looking for his hat and he was about to leave with Marthe and Chris. The Limo guy had just arrived. I knew there would be a scene so as I was walking in the other room I remembered to pray, “God you know  where the hat is. If it’s in the house please help us find it now.”  Not 10 seconds later Sal remembered that he had put the hat in one of the draws of the TV cabinet!

THE SHAKING DOG AT WALBARK ASTORIA

    I went to Walbark Astoria to see ahead of time the place I would leave my dog. There was a little white dog in the “special needs” area shivering so hard I felt like crying when I saw it.  The lady said he will be there 3 days—he has “separation anxiety.”  I immediately started to pray for the dog in my mind, while putting out my hand. The dog came right over and let me pet him. I prayed in the name of Jesus in my mind and immediately the dog stopped shaking and seemed at peace. The lady said, “He never goes up to anyone. He must really like you.’  I told her I prayed for the dog!

SAVED FROM GOING FOR NOTHING

       I was going to Church because I had missed –on Sunday afternoon, thinking the service was at four. But something told me to call and check the time. Sure enough it was at five thirty, I would have gone for nothing. God knew that was the last thing I needed.

MY DOG'S OPERATION

  My dog was neutered and sure enough the Vet found the testicle that had not dropped very easily. But Black Joe has some mean looking stitches red and swollen. He told me to keep an eye on them. Being the worry wart that I am I started feaering Saturday that they were infected. Now at the same time my neighbor carol invited me over for a drink. I  had been invited before but never went and didn’t want to go especially since I had to bring Black Joe and he would get excited. But something told me to do it.  Sure enough I showed Carol and her sister Jan the stitches saying I was  worried about them. Turns out they are both nurses. They said the stitches were fine,.

A LITTLE MIRACLE

    I worked in the hospital today, Thanksgiving. They asked me to bring a specimen down to the lab. I had not been there in months but said yes. On the way down I started to pray, “God please help me find the lab without embarrassing myself,”  Sure enough a volunteer got on the elevator and out on that floor and I asked and she showed me the exact door to go it.

 


LATEST BEFORE AND AFTER REPORTS

                   My body is changing daily.  I was 405 lbs at my highest weight, and I thinking of walking with TWO canes instead of one, instead I grabbed your book and dvd-which I had been reading for years, and finally made a commitment to making exercise a priority for my 50th birthday.  I have dropped to  354.0 lbs so far, and my doctor is bugging me to let her use your book for her other stubborn patients over 45 like myself.  I have stopped LOSING BONE and I am building bone!  Your funny comments make me laugh, and I tell my daughter (eighteen and a half) who does your workouts too, that you are talking just to me.  She laughed, and then one day, you said, "If you are  200 pounds overweight, you should stop right now, ease into the exercise gradually, and my daughter looked at me with her mouth open, and said, Ma that IS for you.  I laughed and laughed.  Thanks Joyce, you may have just SAVED my LIFE!!!                        Years ago I started using the 12-minute workout for no other reason than to maintain some bone health. I was astonished at how it tightened and toned, so I went forward into Weight Training Made Easy, Bottoms Up, and the Bathing Suit Workout--had great results--literally was wearing bikinis in my 50's and looked fine! I got away from things due to heavy caregiving responsibilities in the family combined with a fulltime job, but am now turning 62 this month--"retirement age"--although I'm not retiring.                       HI, I know all your products, I have your whole collection. I just finished doing your boot camp at home, I lost 2.3 pounds lately so far with 3,5 and 8 pounds and now that I am watching more how much and what I eat I know that better results are coming. I noticed lately that I am not as much hungry anymore and the pounds are just getting off. I went from size 8 to 6 lately (I have a very small frame and I am short so, for me 8 was big, I used to be a size 2-4) and now know that I am in the right direction. I just love your tapes. I have to exercize about everyday. I make it happen, this is the time I devote to myself and I feel so much more energized. I added interval aerobics and walk with joyce dvds to it and It's just keep getting better!!!! I know the next step will be to increase my weight and I will get even better results.
